This sad piece of infill is the crap that passes for shopping in my community of East Point. Even prior to the new store opening (NSO), efflorescence appeared on the monument sign at Main Street & Washington Road. Notice how the store designers don't acknowledge the corner. (This is probably the result or siloed thinking: Real Estate doesn't talk to Store Planners, Architects don't talk to Marketing, Marketing assumes Merchandising will just make it work. Thus, the store front remains empty.)
The lack of communication results in a generator, trash enclosure and an empty store front to sit on this prominent corner. (Thankfully, there's a bench right in front of the dumpster for me to sit and stare at oncoming traffic.)
When daily traffic - a mix of Woodward parents, airport staff and downtown workers - passes this corner, potential shoppers are reminded of emptiness as opposed to prescriptions, chocolates or shampoo.
